Empowering Women

Despite many international agreements affirming their human rights, women are still much more likely than men to be poor and illiterate. They usually have less access than men to medical care, property ownership, credit, training and employment. They are far less likely than men to be politically active and far more likely to be victims of domestic violence.

The ability of women to control their own fertility is absolutely fundamental to women’s empowerment and equality. When a woman can plan her family, she can plan the rest of her life. When she is healthy, she can be more productive. And when her reproductive rights—including the right to decide the number, timing and spacing of her children, and to make decisions regarding reproduction free of discrimination, coercion and violence—are promoted and protected, she has freedom to participate more fully and equally in society.

Understanding gender equality and women's empowerment

"Gender equality implies a society in which women and men enjoy the same opportunities, outcomes, rights and obligations in all spheres of life. Equality between men and women exists when both sexes are able to share equally in the distribution of power and influence; have equal opportunities for financial independence through work or through setting up businesses; enjoy equal access to education and the opportunity to develop personal ambitions. A critical aspect of promoting gender equality is the empowerment of women, with a focus on identifying and redressing power imbalances and giving women more autonomy to manage their own lives. Women's empowerment is vital to sustainable development and the realization of human rights for all"

Where women’s status is low, family size tends to be large, which makes it more difficult for families to thrive. Population and development and reproductive health programmes are more effective when they address the educational opportunities, status and empowerment of women. When women are empowered, whole families benefit, and these benefits often have ripple effects to future generations.

The roles that men and women play in society are not biologically determined -- they are socially determined, changing and changeable. Although they may be justified as being required by culture or religion, these roles vary widely by locality and change over time. UNFPA has found that applying culturally sensitive approaches can be key to advancing women’s rights while respecting different forms of social organization.

Addressing women’s issues also requires recognizing that women are a diverse group, in the roles they play as well as in characteristics such as age, social status, urban or rural orientation and educational attainment. Although women may have many interests in common, the fabric of their lives and the choices available to them may vary widely.

Racism - What You Can Do To Stop It

Life is hard enough without having to put up with racist attitudes towards you or your friends. But there is stuff that you can do to make a difference. ChildLine has produced a quick guide to help you and your mates.

1. Don’t Take The Abuse

You don't have to accept any form of racist hassle. Everyone, no matter what their nationality or race, has a right to live happily and free from discrimination.

2. Realise That You're Not The One With The Problem

It can be hard because your self-esteem does sometimes take a knock if you're having grief from someone, but the thing you have to remember is that you are not the one to have caused the problem. You’ve done nothing wrong.

3. Tell Someone What's Happening To You

If the problem is in your school, you should approach a member of staff that deals with this type of incident or if you are not sure who to go to - talk to a member of staff who you can trust and tell him/her about what has been going on. You should also tell family and friends about this so that you can also get their help and support. Other parts of your life will suffer if you keep silent. Speak up now before the problem takes over.

4. Keep Some Evidence Of What's Happening

You should write down what's been happening, like a diary of events, for example, and also your thoughts on what you would like to happen. This will be useful to show others that you need help and to what extent it’s affecting you.

Then take action. You can do it!

5. Be Prepared To Speak Out

Be prepared to speak out and tell people just how it’s affecting your life and your well-being. If you are going to alert someone to the fact that you're being threatened, abused or bullied, then do it properly.

6. Keep Safe & Aware

You can't spend your life looking over your shoulder, but it pays to be aware of dangers. Stick with groups of friends if you feel vulnerable.

7. Never Give Up!

You might not be able to tackle racism by yourself. Seek out support and accept help where you can.

Remember racism just isn't cool and no one should have to put up with it.

8. Get Others Involved To Help You

Get other people involved in tackling the problem. If it’s happening to you or your friends then it will be happening to other people too. Perhaps you could start an anti-racism project or newsletter at your school or youth group and invite an anti-racist speaker along. Or set up a discussion group to talk about relevant issues and see what you can do to help in your area.

What is important to know is what YOU can do to challenge racist behaviour/incidents. Racism has a very bad effect on your self-esteem, self-confidence and self-worth; if you suffer in silence you can feel isolated, depressed and helpless as well as it affecting your mental and general well-being.

It can be difficult to ask for help but you must do this and by taking action you are saying that you will not accept this kind of treatment from anyone and you can begin to feel empowered and confident again.

Everyone has a responsibility to challenge racism, so even if you have never been the target of abuse or hurtful language, you should speak out against it.

No matter how peaceful your nature, when it comes to the battle of the bulge, you have to put up a good fight. In our eat-and-run, massive-portion-sized world, maintaining a healthy weight can be hard enough, and healthy weight loss can be a real struggle. Adding to the difficulty is the abundance of fad diets and “quick-fix” plans that tempt and confuse us and ultimately usually do not work.

Weight management not only makes you look and feel better, it influences your future health. A healthy weight decreases your chances of developing serious health risks such as heart disease or diabetes.

If your last diet attempt wasn't a success, or life events have caused you to gain weight, don’t be discouraged. The key is to find a plan that works with your body’s individual needs so that you can avoid common diet pitfalls and instead make lasting lifestyle changes that can help you find long-term, healthy weight loss success.

Why do some weight loss programs fail?
• You feel deprived.
• You “plateau” after losing a few pounds.
• You lose weight, but can’t keep it off.
• After your diet, you seem to put on weight more quickly.
• You break your diet and feel too discouraged to try again.
• You lose money faster than you lose weight
• You feel isolated and unable to enjoy social situations revolving around food.
• The person on the commercial lost 30 lbs in 2 months – and you haven’t.

Why do some weight loss programs succeed?
• Lifestyle change
• Find a cheering section
• Commit to a plan and stick to it
• Lose weight slowly.
• Stay motivated and keep track

Weight loss bottom line

Your weight is a balancing act, but the equation is simple: If you eat more calories than you burn, you gain weight. Gaining and losing weight (W) comes down to the simple calculation of calories consumed (CC), or in other words, what you eat, minus calories burned (CB) through metabolism and physical activity.

W = CC – CB

If you eat more calories than you burn then you gain weight or if you eat fewer calories than you burn then you lose weight. In order to lose one pound of fat per week, you need to eat about 500 calories less than your typical diet. Since 3,500 calories equals about 1 pound of fat, if you cut 500 calories from your typical diet each day, you'd lose approximately 1 pound a week (500 calories x 7 days = 3,500 calories). Remember, you need to burn 3,500 calories more than you take in to lose 1 pound.

This does not mean that you need to eat less food. Instead, you need to consume fewer calories. With smart choices this is very doable. The key is to choose “low density” foods, which means foods that allow you to eat a larger portion sizes but that is lower in calories. These foods, including many fruits and vegetables, tend to contain more water and fiber. Try starting your meal with a low-density salad or soup to help fill you up, so you eat less.

Effect Of Corruption In Economic Growth
Corruption in any form is treated as an incurable disease cause of many social and economical evils in the society and it damages the moral and ethical fibers of the civilization .

Corruption in any form is treated as an incurable disease cause of many social and economical evils in the society and it damages the moral and ethical fibers of the civilization .Indisputably, it is correct that corruption breeds many evils in the society & once corruption start take place ,slowly and gradually whole country passes through its net and it become after some time incurable diseases .from the economic point of view ,there seem to be no clear cut correlation between corruption and the economic growth of a country. There may be some social maladies like inequality of income among the people ,moral degradation of people due to the prevalence of corruption ,the parameter of economic growth which are taken on percentage or an average basis are entirely different

We can find several countries having corrupt regime but yielding excellent economic result and other countries with clean regime showing very poor result in term of economic prosperity and growth.

Corruption in long run may destroy the whole society morally, ethically and economically .May be in the long run, a country needs clean government to reach top of the income ladder, may be rapid income growth by its self induce better accountability and governance, may be corruption in long run degenerate the society into several misfortune and evils .But clean govt is not necessary condition for rapid economic growth.

A survey conducted by World Development Report some year ago, business man in surveyed countries said that the main problem with corruption was that it increases risk and uncertainty .The risk declined dramatically if corruption produced reliable outcome .If all player have to play 10% and could treat of getting their license entrepreneurs could treat this as just one more tax, factor it into their calculations of profit and so could invest with confidence of sure gain.

The quality of institution seems to be the most important factor for the growth of a countries .If the institution work moderately well, progress is possible even if money is skimmed off at the top .But if the institution are incapable of enforcing any right, corruption will hasten economic collapse.

In brief it can be concluded that corruption and economic growth has no clear correlation .strong institution, political stability, fast and reasonability in decision taking are some of the requirement for fast economic growth.

A new review of more than 100 studies on the safety of mobile phones has concluded that cellular devices are poised to cause an epidemic of brain tumors that will kill more people than smoking or asbestos.

Research demonstrates that long-term use of mobile handsets, more than 10 years, can double the risk of contracting brain cancer. While a number of studies have concluded that there is no such risk, most of those studies only examined short-term use. But because a brain tumor can take 10 years to develop, studies without a long follow-up period are largely meaningless.

There is a significant and increasing body of evidence for a link between mobile phone usage and certain brain tumors, a link that will be "definitively proven" within 10 years.

While mobile phones may save lives in certain emergency situations, brain cancer is "a life-ending diagnosis."

It is anticipated that this danger has far broader public health ramifications than asbestos and smoking. While one billion people worldwide smoke tobacco, three times as many now use mobile phones.

Smoking is responsible for five million deaths each year.

A Swedish study in 2006 concluded that people who used mobile phones for an hour or more each day had a 240 percent higher brain tumor risk than non-users. Tumors were significantly more likely to develop on the side of the head where the phone was most often used.

Inspired in part by such studies, France has warned against mobile phone use (especially in children), Germany urges people to minimize their use of mobile handsets, and the European Environment Agency has called for minimizing exposure to cellular radiation.

Because mobile phone use began in the mid-1980s and it can take up to 20 years to diagnose a malignant solid brain tumor, In the years 2008-2012, we will have reached the appropriate length of follow-up time to begin to definitively observe the impact of this global technology on brain tumor incidence rates.

Malignant brain tumor incidence and its associated death rate will be observed globally to rise within a decade from now, by which time it may be far too late to meaningfully intervene.

What causes homosexuality? There has been much debate about what causes homosexuality. Is there a gay gene? Is homosexuality caused by environmental factors, such as upbringing, child molestation, an absent mother or affectionate father? Or is it something we’re born with, an inherited trait, like skin or hair color?

Although there have been few studies on the cause of homosexuality, the debate seems to be divided, with scientists in one corner and religious fundamentalists in another.

Why does it matter?

Does it matter if homosexuality is a choice or if it’s something one is born with? Shouldn’t gay people be afforded the same rights as heterosexuals whether being gay is a choice or not? Not all people think that way.

If homosexuality is caused by genetic or inborn traits, then gay and lesbian people would be unable to change their sexual orientation, even if they wanted to. But if homosexuality is caused by some environmental factor, then gays and lesbians could change and become straight with therapy. Or so some religious fundamentalists and other anti-gay crusaders would have you believe.

Is being gay a choice?

If you ask most gay people they will tell you that being gay is not something they chose. Why would anyone choose to be something that could cause them to be scorned by society, rejected by their families, deny them rights and subject them to possible violent hate crimes? That is not to say that all of being gay or lesbian is negative. In fact, most lesbians, once they come out, say they’ve never been happier or more fulfilled.

Some lesbians will contend that being gay is a choice, especially those who were once married or came out later in life. Others are angered to hear someone say that. There also a lot of people who believe it's a choice.

Many gays and lesbians would argue that being gay is not a choice, but whether to act on it is. We don’t choose our sexual orientation, but we do choose whether or not to come out of the closet.

Most scientific organizations also believe that homosexuality is not a choice, that biology plays some role. The National Mental Health Association says, “Most researchers believe sexual orientation is complex, and that biology plays an important role. This means that many people are born with their sexual orientation, or that it’s established at an early age.”

Is there a gay gene?

Scientists have not been able to conclude that there is any gene or combination of genes that will make someone gay. Genetics is very complex and scientists continue to study both humans and animals chromosomes for linkage to sexual orientation.

In conclusion

Despite social science and biological research, it is still not known what causes someone to be gay, lesbian, bisexual or straight. Scientists and social scientists will no doubt continue to study the causes of homosexuality in both animals and humans.

No matter what they find, gays, lesbians and their supporters will continue the fight for fair and equal treatment.

Facebook is one of the fastest growing social networking websites on the Internet. Each day countless numbers of people flock to Facebook.com and join up with visions of reconnecting with people and having the ability to maintain contact with people they know.

There are many advantages to becoming a Facebook member and once you've successfully integrated yourself as a savvy user you'll see just how Facebook is a great tool to use for many purposes.

That being said, you should be aware there are some significant drawbacks to Facebook as well. After you get started, chances are you'll begin to see the disadvantages. The good news is once you recognize the drawbacks, you can avoid these pitfalls and make your experience an advantageous one.

Here are a few of the top disadvantages of Facebook:

*Time Consuming

Most people find after becoming a Facebook member that interaction tends to become time consuming. If you are hard-pressed for time, it's important to set time limits for yourself or you'll likely find it's highly possible to lose valuable time that could have been more productive elsewhere.

The time consuming aspect of Facebook doesn't have to be a problem as long as you don't let it and stay in control.

*Facebook Addiction

Some people find once they've become immersed in the Facebook culture they become addicted. Depending on your perspective, spending too much time on a single website with nothing else to show at the end of the day may be a huge disadvantage.

Many find once they log into Facebook and begin poking around profiles, walls, groups, applications and the plethora of other activities Facebook offers, hours have gone by. This can become a problem in one's personal or professional life if the time spent on Facebook begins to take hold of one's life.

For those who are prone to log-in constantly all day long to check out what's happening in their circle of Facebook friends, this may become problematic, especially if feeds are sent to e-mail and cell phones with new updates that make constant log-ins compulsory.

A Facebook addiction can be construed as a disadvantage because of inordinate amounts of time spent on the website and self-imposed time limits aren't set. It's important to recognize the addiction signs so a Facebook membership doesn't become a problem.

*Privacy Considerations

Any time you open any sort of online account, you give up a degree of privacy. While most sites the private information you enter remains between youand the website, in the case of Facebook.com, there is potential to expose a lot of personal information on the web for all to see.

On the plus side, Facebook does offer tools to help you mitigate this and control your user experience. By using these tools you can customize how much or how little you want the Facebook, or even the Internet, communities to see.

The bottom line is Internet is a public forum and any sort of interaction on Facebook has potential to go outside the scope of your control. However as long as you educate yourself on the disadvantages of Facebook, you can better protect yourself from the drawbacks and have a positive experience as a member.

TeENaGe Pr0BLeMs

Teenagers social problems can be related to anything that happens in this society. Teenagers can be affected about anything. They grow in a society that still has many unresolved issues and they are the ones that have to suffer. Social problems can be as simple as listening to loud music in a park. This might disturb many people, or smoking on the street. These simple and most common things can be considered social problems. More serious ones are for example those related to drug abuse in high schools. Because there are so many drug dealers teenagers start to take drugs out of curiosity. There are three big reasons why teenagers take drugs : curiosity, peer pressure and availability.

The most influential one is peer pressure. They want to be just as their friends and in a group of people you can`t say no to challenges because you will look silly. This is the main reason why kids take drugs from a young age. Also, there is the problem of availability. There are too many drug dealers that find kids with money who are willing to try them once. Trying once is just a figure of speach, drug dealers know that they won`t stop here . Drugs create dependence and so we hear daily at the news that another kids is sent to rehab centre or has been found in school in a poor state. These years are most crucial in the maturation process. Every kid is faced with the task of figuring out his sef identity, becoming independent and choosing a road in life than can eventually bring him a good situation.

Another teenagers social problem is unwanted pregnancy at the age of sixteen or seventeen. There should be held classes in every school, about sexual encounters. Improving communication about sexuality to children might change some of the already formed ideas that kids have. Besides the fact that girls can end up pregnant if they don`t use protection, there is also the possibility of taking sexually transmitted diseases. Most of the parents don`t explain to their children what is the deal with sex because they just assume that they already know.Because there are so many movies teenagers can form an idea. Well it`s best to talk to your child like from a friend to a friend. Remember when you were a teenager and try to do all the things you wish your parents would have done.

Also , teenagers can become friends with all the wrong people. Most of them want to be liked so much that they hang out with more bigger kids that steal, go in clubs, drink and crash parties. Because this is the period when teenagers are very easy to convince they start doing the same things. After this period of rebellion ends, things will settle down. It`s important to be there for your kid even if he has screwed thing up.

The Importance of Family Relationships

Many studies confirms the importance of families and family relationships to young peopel aged between 8 and 15 years. When asked who they looked up to, in significant studies, almost half of kids involved nominated their parents, with a further quarter nominating a relative - usually an older brother or sister or grandparent. Only 20 per cent picked a sports star or pop culture identity as their main role model. This establishes the significance of family relationships for children

Children surveyed also said they felt proud when they received parental approval, and regularly seek advice from their families when they are worried about something. The only exception was when children are concerned about their parents' separating or divorcing.

They then are more likely to talk to friends or siblings, particularly in the absence of vital family relationships.

Given that the family is the primary group of significant others, it follows that a young person's identity and existence is strongly influenced by the family system and the accompanying family relationships. It is not surprising that, for many children and young people, family relationships are both a indicator of well-being and also a source of concern and distress.

Factors Affecting Family Stability and the family relationships

Many factors affect family stability and well-being. Changes occurring over the last 20 years have strongly impacted on traditional family life. And the important family relationships

These changes include

• increases in divorce,

• single parent-families,

• step and blended families and

• the proportion of couples choosing to live in defacto relationships.

When parents separate, the vast majority of children live with their mother in either one-parent families or in step or blended families For a high proportion of divorced and separated fathers, involvement with their children drops off over time and relationships with children suffer Thus ongoing family relationships suffer.

After parents separate, the majority of children live in single-parent families where family relationships are significantly reduced or put under tension. In more than half of these one-parent families the parent is not employed .

With the breakdown of their family and the change to single-parent status many children suffer economic deprivation as a result of their lower socioeconomic status resulting in further stress. They also suffer the loss of the nurturing family relationships usually found within most families.

Given that couples state the main reason for separation and divorce as being relationship problems such as lack of communication, feelings of neglect and constant arguments, it follows that many children are experiencing these problems as well and the decline in the health of family relationships follows.

Even in 'healthy' families conflict occurs. Children are often the forgotten participants of family disruption and conflict between parents even though the tensions within family relationships is significantly impacted upon them.

Human development is about much more than the rise or fall of national incomes. It is about creating an environment in which people can develop their full potential and lead productive, creative lives in accord with their needs and interests. People are the real wealth of nations. Development is thus about expanding the choices people have to lead lives that they value. And it is thus about much more than economic growth, which is only a means—if a very important one—of enlarging people’s choices

What does it mean to be poor? How is poverty measured? Third World countries are often described as “developing” while the First World, industrialized nations are often “developed”. What does it mean to describe a nation as “developing”? A lack of material wealth does not necessarily mean that one is deprived. A strong economy in a developed nation doesn’t mean much when a significant percentage (even a majority) of the population is struggling to survive.

Poverty is the state for the majority of the world’s people and nations. Why is this? Is it enough to blame poor people for their own predicament? Have they been lazy, made poor decisions, and been solely responsible for their plight? What about their governments? Have they pursued policies that actually harm successful development? Such causes of poverty and inequality are no doubt real. But deeper and more global causes of poverty are often less discussed.

Behind the increasing interconnectedness promised by globalization are global decisions, policies, and practices. These are typically influenced, driven, or formulated by the rich and powerful. These can be leaders of rich countries or other global actors such as multinational corporations, institutions, and influential people.

In the face of such enormous external influence, the governments of poor nations and their people are often powerless. As a result, in the global context, a few get wealthy while the majority struggle.

Its is all about sharing n giving  end of the day. If the rich is willing to give to the poor, as time past by poverty can be combated but selfishness and self centeredness of humans make all this impossible.. In these fast moving pace of life, it is important to stop, look back and realize what we lack and our resposibility to the community and the poor ones out ther.

Is It Happening?

Yes. Earth is already showing many signs of worldwide climate change.

• Average temperatures have climbed 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit (0.8 degree Celsius) around the world since 1880, much of this in recent decades, according to NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies.

• The rate of warming is increasing. The 20th century's last two decades were the hottest in 400 years and possibly the warmest for several millennia, according to a number of climate studies. And the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reports that 11 of the past 12 years are among the dozen warmest since 1850.

• The Arctic is feeling the effects the most. Average temperatures in Alaska, western Canada, and eastern Russia have risen at twice the global average, according to the multinational Arctic Climate Impact Assessment report compiled between 2000 and 2004.

• Arctic ice is rapidly disappearing, and the region may have its first completely ice-free summer by 2040 or earlier. Polar bears and indigenous cultures are already suffering from the sea-ice loss.

• Glaciers and mountain snows are rapidly melting—for example, Montana's Glacier National Park now has only 27 glaciers, versus 150 in 1910. In the Northern Hemisphere, thaws also come a week earlier in spring and freezes begin a week later.

• Coral reefs, which are highly sensitive to small changes in water temperature, suffered the worst bleaching—or die-off in response to stress—ever recorded in 1998, with some areas seeing bleach rates of 70 percent. Experts expect these sorts of events to increase in frequency and intensity in the next 50 years as sea temperatures rise.

• An upsurge in the amount of extreme weather events, such as wildfires, heat waves, and strong tropical storms, is also attributed in part to climate change by some experts.

Global warming is an alarming issue this decade, yet many people tend to neglect or never give importance about this issue. If everyone take this issue seriously and give their contribution in reducing global warming, our world can be saved and it will be a better place for the future generation. Think about it, and be a part in making the world a better place....

StReSs MaNaGeMeNt

STRESS- The one word that drive people nuts and go crazy. It is one of the most singificant problems human beings face nowadays especially students and adults in their career. You may not always be able to make stress dissappear, but you can manage it with some very simple techniques which includes:

1. TALK! Don't hold all your feelings within! Discuss your stressful feelings with someone you trust who will listen without being judgmental or pressuring you to their own point of view. Even if you can't change the immediate situation, talking about it helps alleviate some of the tension you may be feeling. Supplement the verbalizing with something physical: write it out, exercise or hit a pillow.

2. ACT! Be willing to take risk and make change, no matter how small. Try to change the stressful situation, or at least some part of it. Moving forward in small ways helps you feel empowered and in control. Put one foot in front of the other to move in a positive direction. Soon, the stress will lessen.

3. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY! If you learn about how your body reacts to stress, you can also learn how to counter that stress. Learn to listen to your body's signals and find ways to reduce your stress, even if it's just "taking five" to clear your mind. Relaxation exercises (E.g. Yoga, meditation, physical exercise) help, too.

4. BE IN CHARGE! Discover what you need to feel good about yourself and get your needs met. Another way to reduce your stress is to find an interest, hobby or activity where you feel in charge and call the shots. If you really feel out of control, don't stay silent and alone! Seek guidance from someone who is qualified to help you get through the obstacles, and move forward again. If you can't find someone qualified in your neighborhood or you don't feel as though you can talk to someone "in person" try a qualified internet counselor.

5. DON'T OVERWHELM YOURSELF: If you are stressed and overwhelmed, perhaps you are trying to handle too much. Rid yourself of extra duties that aren't necessary or important. Learn how to delegate and how to say "no" without feeling guilty. Ask for help if you need it.

6. GET AWAY: Sometimes a change, however small, can do wonders for your spirit. Forget it all for a while--escape! Go somewhere new for a few hours, or a few days if you can afford to. If not, it may be helpful just to "get away" to a warm bath for a little while!
7. PRIORITIZE: You may not be able to avoid all the responsibilities obligations you currently have, but you can learn how to complete them without resentment and consciously choose how you will handle them.

8. EXTEND YOURSELF: Make your own life better by making someone else's life better. Give of yourself. Volunteer! You will feel empowered, positive and important.

9. MAKE SUCCESS HAPPEN! If you can't change the world, change yourself! Learn how to love yourself as you are, while you work towards your goals. Then, make a commitment to yourself to start improving the things about yourself and your life that (you believe) need it. Instead of immediate, dramatic change, learn to enjoy the journey of lifelong self-improvement. You are always a work in progress.
10. SOCIALIZE: Spend time with family and friends for love and support. Don't be afraid to enjoy yourself! Appreciate friendship and let others know you care about them, too. Love may not conquer all, but it's a great start!

11. LEARN HOW TO BE HAPPY: One thing all of life's winners have in common is a sense of well-being, a positive attitude and realistic goals. Focus on the good things about yourself, and in your life. Nobody's perfect. Learn to enjoy the "little things" that make you happy. Count your blessings. Every day, write down on a slip of paper one thing you are grateful for, even if it's just a sunny day, a friend's phone call, your cat's happy purr. Put this "blessing" in a jar along with a dollar or more. Do this for one month. At the end of the month read all those slips of paper and you will realize that life is better than you think! Use the money to do something really special for yourself, or donate it to charity.

Are you feeling miserable n horrible deep inside you??
Finding it hard to get over your past n let it go??
So, How to Deal With Your Mistakes and Move On  ???

Letting go of your past – whether it's quitting an addictive relationship or grieving a death – can be one of the hardest things you'll ever do. In life, there's many things that we have to learn to let go. We have to let go of situations, things, memories, people and even ourselves. It's not easy, but there are practical ways to let go of your past and move on. Before you delve into letting go and saying good-bye to your past, however, you may need to face your memories and experiences. If you're dealing with your mistakes, you'll certainly have to accept responsibility for your actions.

Even if it was a painful relationship and you had to let go of your past for your own sanity, you still may struggle with saying good-bye.It is difficult for us in so many ways and on so many levels. Yet life calls upon us to do it, over and over again. Letting go is part of our growth process. We cannot move on to the new while continuing to cling to the old.

It's easy to form an attachment to people and things. When you've formed an attachment to people and things, it can be a very painful experience and feeling when you realized that it's time to let go. Even the mere thought of not having that person or thing in your life just squeezes your heart in pain.

There come times, in the context of love , when we must learn to let go. For some of us, we must let go of a past relationship. Maybe the relationship was not meant to be, perhaps it was hurtful to us, or perhaps it was hindering the personal or spiritual growth of one or both partners. In this case, even when there may still be feelings of passion, or attraction, or just the comfort of the familiar, we must be strong in letting go of something that is unhealthy for us. … Perhaps we have no problem leaving the person behind, but we continue to harbor animosity. In this case, we need to let go of the anger: holding onto anger does not serve us - and it might even serve to create problems in our physical health or emotional well-being. … In the realm of relationships, some of us need to let go of unrealistic expectations. Whether we have idealized a past relationship, some of us need to let go of the myth of the perfect lover: the fantasy of a relationship that requires no work and just brings us "happily ever after." By letting go, I am not implying "to forget" or "to ignore." By all means, we should carry with us the happy memories and the lessons we have learned from our past relationships. However, we need to let go in the sense of releasing emotional baggage we may be carrying around with us, so that we may be open to, and present for, a new relationship.

Letting go of your past means:

* accepting that there's nothing you can do to change the past.

* forgiving yourself for your mistakes.

* being aware of your thoughts

* trusting the nature of time

* making new connections with people

* seeking balance in your life

* exploring a new world
