HeaRt AcHe!!!

Well, wut would u do when the person u trust most in your life actually cheats & lie to u? All the while, the trust which is build throughout the relationship just breaks into pieces.... How to mend the broken bridge to the 2 heart? Is it possible?? Maybe yes, but then u'll never be the same person again... Is dat a fault? It makes the cheated person ponders weather all these while were there any lies & cheating...
Sometimes, people just dont understand how their words can crush ones heart into pieces and it can never be mend back as words are the most powerful weapon..
Many questions gushes into the mind like a fresh pumped iron onto the muscles-----> Is it ok to forgive a person again n again n again even after they break ur heart each & every time even after explaining for the sake of LOVE?? or move on leaving all the heart aches n burden the tiny heart has been carrying all the time?? Is it better to live with the pain or leave the love u've been delved in all these while n den go thru shits n pains!?!.... Brains says leave but heart says stay...
After moving on from many chaos, dramas, broken relationship, losing trust from the most precious gems in life, lots n lots of pains & hurt, now this!! Is this all the heart gets??
It is not easy to just leave everything back on move on.. Easy to say but reality isn't how it seems alwayz.. After so many tears, laughter, happy & sad moment, doing everything together....... now, just to continue the journey without the other half of u isn't easy.. Falling in love may be easy, moving on to another relationship may be easy BUT to fall in love deeply with all ur heart n then being heart broke n to move on is totally a different thing..

Empowering Women

Despite many international agreements affirming their human rights, women are still much more likely than men to be poor and illiterate. They usually have less access than men to medical care, property ownership, credit, training and employment. They are far less likely than men to be politically active and far more likely to be victims of domestic violence.

The ability of women to control their own fertility is absolutely fundamental to women’s empowerment and equality. When a woman can plan her family, she can plan the rest of her life. When she is healthy, she can be more productive. And when her reproductive rights—including the right to decide the number, timing and spacing of her children, and to make decisions regarding reproduction free of discrimination, coercion and violence—are promoted and protected, she has freedom to participate more fully and equally in society.

Understanding gender equality and women's empowerment

"Gender equality implies a society in which women and men enjoy the same opportunities, outcomes, rights and obligations in all spheres of life. Equality between men and women exists when both sexes are able to share equally in the distribution of power and influence; have equal opportunities for financial independence through work or through setting up businesses; enjoy equal access to education and the opportunity to develop personal ambitions. A critical aspect of promoting gender equality is the empowerment of women, with a focus on identifying and redressing power imbalances and giving women more autonomy to manage their own lives. Women's empowerment is vital to sustainable development and the realization of human rights for all"

Where women’s status is low, family size tends to be large, which makes it more difficult for families to thrive. Population and development and reproductive health programmes are more effective when they address the educational opportunities, status and empowerment of women. When women are empowered, whole families benefit, and these benefits often have ripple effects to future generations.

The roles that men and women play in society are not biologically determined -- they are socially determined, changing and changeable. Although they may be justified as being required by culture or religion, these roles vary widely by locality and change over time. UNFPA has found that applying culturally sensitive approaches can be key to advancing women’s rights while respecting different forms of social organization.

Addressing women’s issues also requires recognizing that women are a diverse group, in the roles they play as well as in characteristics such as age, social status, urban or rural orientation and educational attainment. Although women may have many interests in common, the fabric of their lives and the choices available to them may vary widely.

Something to ponder about ........

Racism - What You Can Do To Stop It

Life is hard enough without having to put up with racist attitudes towards you or your friends. But there is stuff that you can do to make a difference. ChildLine has produced a quick guide to help you and your mates.

1. Don’t Take The Abuse

You don't have to accept any form of racist hassle. Everyone, no matter what their nationality or race, has a right to live happily and free from discrimination.

2. Realise That You're Not The One With The Problem

It can be hard because your self-esteem does sometimes take a knock if you're having grief from someone, but the thing you have to remember is that you are not the one to have caused the problem. You’ve done nothing wrong.

3. Tell Someone What's Happening To You

If the problem is in your school, you should approach a member of staff that deals with this type of incident or if you are not sure who to go to - talk to a member of staff who you can trust and tell him/her about what has been going on. You should also tell family and friends about this so that you can also get their help and support. Other parts of your life will suffer if you keep silent. Speak up now before the problem takes over.

4. Keep Some Evidence Of What's Happening

You should write down what's been happening, like a diary of events, for example, and also your thoughts on what you would like to happen. This will be useful to show others that you need help and to what extent it’s affecting you.

Then take action. You can do it!

5. Be Prepared To Speak Out

Be prepared to speak out and tell people just how it’s affecting your life and your well-being. If you are going to alert someone to the fact that you're being threatened, abused or bullied, then do it properly.

6. Keep Safe & Aware

You can't spend your life looking over your shoulder, but it pays to be aware of dangers. Stick with groups of friends if you feel vulnerable.

7. Never Give Up!

You might not be able to tackle racism by yourself. Seek out support and accept help where you can.

Remember racism just isn't cool and no one should have to put up with it.

8. Get Others Involved To Help You

Get other people involved in tackling the problem. If it’s happening to you or your friends then it will be happening to other people too. Perhaps you could start an anti-racism project or newsletter at your school or youth group and invite an anti-racist speaker along. Or set up a discussion group to talk about relevant issues and see what you can do to help in your area.

What is important to know is what YOU can do to challenge racist behaviour/incidents. Racism has a very bad effect on your self-esteem, self-confidence and self-worth; if you suffer in silence you can feel isolated, depressed and helpless as well as it affecting your mental and general well-being.

It can be difficult to ask for help but you must do this and by taking action you are saying that you will not accept this kind of treatment from anyone and you can begin to feel empowered and confident again.

Everyone has a responsibility to challenge racism, so even if you have never been the target of abuse or hurtful language, you should speak out against it.

No matter how peaceful your nature, when it comes to the battle of the bulge, you have to put up a good fight. In our eat-and-run, massive-portion-sized world, maintaining a healthy weight can be hard enough, and healthy weight loss can be a real struggle. Adding to the difficulty is the abundance of fad diets and “quick-fix” plans that tempt and confuse us and ultimately usually do not work.

Weight management not only makes you look and feel better, it influences your future health. A healthy weight decreases your chances of developing serious health risks such as heart disease or diabetes.

If your last diet attempt wasn't a success, or life events have caused you to gain weight, don’t be discouraged. The key is to find a plan that works with your body’s individual needs so that you can avoid common diet pitfalls and instead make lasting lifestyle changes that can help you find long-term, healthy weight loss success.

Why do some weight loss programs fail?
• You feel deprived.
• You “plateau” after losing a few pounds.
• You lose weight, but can’t keep it off.
• After your diet, you seem to put on weight more quickly.
• You break your diet and feel too discouraged to try again.
• You lose money faster than you lose weight
• You feel isolated and unable to enjoy social situations revolving around food.
• The person on the commercial lost 30 lbs in 2 months – and you haven’t.

Why do some weight loss programs succeed?
• Lifestyle change
• Find a cheering section
• Commit to a plan and stick to it
• Lose weight slowly.
• Stay motivated and keep track

Weight loss bottom line

Your weight is a balancing act, but the equation is simple: If you eat more calories than you burn, you gain weight. Gaining and losing weight (W) comes down to the simple calculation of calories consumed (CC), or in other words, what you eat, minus calories burned (CB) through metabolism and physical activity.

W = CC – CB

If you eat more calories than you burn then you gain weight or if you eat fewer calories than you burn then you lose weight. In order to lose one pound of fat per week, you need to eat about 500 calories less than your typical diet. Since 3,500 calories equals about 1 pound of fat, if you cut 500 calories from your typical diet each day, you'd lose approximately 1 pound a week (500 calories x 7 days = 3,500 calories). Remember, you need to burn 3,500 calories more than you take in to lose 1 pound.

This does not mean that you need to eat less food. Instead, you need to consume fewer calories. With smart choices this is very doable. The key is to choose “low density” foods, which means foods that allow you to eat a larger portion sizes but that is lower in calories. These foods, including many fruits and vegetables, tend to contain more water and fiber. Try starting your meal with a low-density salad or soup to help fill you up, so you eat less.

Effect Of Corruption In Economic Growth
Corruption in any form is treated as an incurable disease cause of many social and economical evils in the society and it damages the moral and ethical fibers of the civilization .

Corruption in any form is treated as an incurable disease cause of many social and economical evils in the society and it damages the moral and ethical fibers of the civilization .Indisputably, it is correct that corruption breeds many evils in the society & once corruption start take place ,slowly and gradually whole country passes through its net and it become after some time incurable diseases .from the economic point of view ,there seem to be no clear cut correlation between corruption and the economic growth of a country. There may be some social maladies like inequality of income among the people ,moral degradation of people due to the prevalence of corruption ,the parameter of economic growth which are taken on percentage or an average basis are entirely different

We can find several countries having corrupt regime but yielding excellent economic result and other countries with clean regime showing very poor result in term of economic prosperity and growth.

Corruption in long run may destroy the whole society morally, ethically and economically .May be in the long run, a country needs clean government to reach top of the income ladder, may be rapid income growth by its self induce better accountability and governance, may be corruption in long run degenerate the society into several misfortune and evils .But clean govt is not necessary condition for rapid economic growth.

A survey conducted by World Development Report some year ago, business man in surveyed countries said that the main problem with corruption was that it increases risk and uncertainty .The risk declined dramatically if corruption produced reliable outcome .If all player have to play 10% and could treat of getting their license entrepreneurs could treat this as just one more tax, factor it into their calculations of profit and so could invest with confidence of sure gain.

The quality of institution seems to be the most important factor for the growth of a countries .If the institution work moderately well, progress is possible even if money is skimmed off at the top .But if the institution are incapable of enforcing any right, corruption will hasten economic collapse.

In brief it can be concluded that corruption and economic growth has no clear correlation .strong institution, political stability, fast and reasonability in decision taking are some of the requirement for fast economic growth.

A new review of more than 100 studies on the safety of mobile phones has concluded that cellular devices are poised to cause an epidemic of brain tumors that will kill more people than smoking or asbestos.

Research demonstrates that long-term use of mobile handsets, more than 10 years, can double the risk of contracting brain cancer. While a number of studies have concluded that there is no such risk, most of those studies only examined short-term use. But because a brain tumor can take 10 years to develop, studies without a long follow-up period are largely meaningless.

There is a significant and increasing body of evidence for a link between mobile phone usage and certain brain tumors, a link that will be "definitively proven" within 10 years.

While mobile phones may save lives in certain emergency situations, brain cancer is "a life-ending diagnosis."

It is anticipated that this danger has far broader public health ramifications than asbestos and smoking. While one billion people worldwide smoke tobacco, three times as many now use mobile phones.

Smoking is responsible for five million deaths each year.

A Swedish study in 2006 concluded that people who used mobile phones for an hour or more each day had a 240 percent higher brain tumor risk than non-users. Tumors were significantly more likely to develop on the side of the head where the phone was most often used.

Inspired in part by such studies, France has warned against mobile phone use (especially in children), Germany urges people to minimize their use of mobile handsets, and the European Environment Agency has called for minimizing exposure to cellular radiation.

Because mobile phone use began in the mid-1980s and it can take up to 20 years to diagnose a malignant solid brain tumor, In the years 2008-2012, we will have reached the appropriate length of follow-up time to begin to definitively observe the impact of this global technology on brain tumor incidence rates.

Malignant brain tumor incidence and its associated death rate will be observed globally to rise within a decade from now, by which time it may be far too late to meaningfully intervene.
